Ya know sometimes its nice to build something that is really simple and quick, this is one of those projects. Remember Addison Rose of Texas, my Grand Daughter that I made the crib for? Well she is growing up and she likes to get mail theses days. So My Daughter wanted me to make a mailbox for Addys play house in the back yard. So here it is!

I made it out of a 4’ long piece of 4×4 redwood post that I had laying around the shop. I bought the letters and flower from Hobby Lobby. Then based the colors on the flower.

So now Addy has mail!

As always thanks for looking and have fun woodworking!

I’m sure you’ve made Addison one happy little girl. Now you just have to be sure to keep it full of mail from Grandpa!

Thanks for sharing this. It’s nice to see that you can do something other than masterpieces! ;-) (We mean that in a nice way.)

Les, that will be one very happy granddaughter. My daughter lovesd to get mail but we just have one of those plastic ones bought at a yardsale. I better not let her see this one :).

Its fun sometimes just to do a simple project that you make up as you go. Although most of the projects that I have to do are somtimes pretty intense,,, I’m just a simple kind of guy that loves to make things out of wood. Whatever the project is at the time.

lightweight,,,,,,That’s kinda why I posted this to show that I do normal things sometimes to.

Great lookin’ mailbox – might have to make a slightly more boyish version for my son when he gets old enough – I expect I’ll need a way to talk to him once we get that treehouse up and running.
