Wanted to build some cars for the new wood burner and just love making the cattle car so here’s my second try at one.
Poplar, oak, maple and cherry, just all scrapes from around the shop.
And here's the build blog.
This is a scratch build from a couple a pictures.
It is full size to match the Toys and Joys train I just finished.
Thanks for checking it out.

This is a beautiful model of a train cattle car. It displays a lot of nice details and craftsmanship.

GR8 The caboose is what got me into building trains and their cars so it will probable be the next build.
I keep hoping I’ll find a different car to build that looks interesting but no joy.
A plus is I already have the plans, but it just hit me I need to look for a different style caboose. :-]
Thanks GR8 you got the wheels greased for a search for the perfect caboose. lol

I think I found my caboose!!!!!

What would you all think of this.
Would be a lot more work But I really like the looks of these older cars.
One more thing that I think will work, I’ve got a bunch a green poplar so I wonder what color it will be? lol

Excellent detail, looks better than my Lionel. Build the caboose.

Now that looks neat.

Notice anything different about the caboose #4... look under the wheels (you don’t even need to lift the caboose up)!

Normally your are humble and courteous. However, you are an absolute cow when it comes to building tracks for your cattle car and cow-catcher.

... I wonder what color it will be?

If you are taking up a straw-poll, I’ll always vote against inclusion of metal and paint (though I may concede to the use of brass). Jokes aside, when you put them all on a set of tracks, a green model may look out of place.
