Project Information

This project was inspired for my brother. He was deployed and coming home and I wanted to do something for him as a return gift/thank you. It took me a few weeks to think about what I wanted to do, then this flag popped into my head. I had never made one before, nor had I ever tried making something as detailed as the emblem. Everything was a learning experience as I went and of course there were plenty of mistakes. I even took it as far as to make my own red stain to use. The emblem took about 6 hours itself to make from transferring the drawing to wood and tracing and dremeling it out. I couldn't be happier with the finished product. He loved it by the way.

Amazing flag-I really like how the figured maple shows through for the white stripes. And you carved the USMC symbol with a dremel-hats off.

What are the dimensions?

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. The stain was made from Red food coloring and rubbing alcohol and the stars I created my own pattern and cut them out and traced them, then dremeled and painted.
