Nothing fantastic but my sister and her other half asked if I could build them a box for books that would fit over the hatch to the flying bridge on their 34’ Carver and since I’m going to help them crew it back from Anacortes WA to Alaska, I was only too happy to make them a nice cherry piece. The box itself is 14” x 28” and 10” deep, it stands 26” tall according to their specs. I had a bunch of 1 3/4” x 1/2” cherry strips and used 1 3/4” x 3/4” pieces for the legs. The back is simply aluminum laminated plywood. Linseed oil finish with a Minwax overcoat. It was a lot of fun to build and should slide in over the sliding hatch cover with the ability to attach it to the wall with a couple of stainless steel screws, just so it don’t fall over going North on the inside passage to do some halibut and salmon fishing this summer. Are you drooling yet?
