I attended the American Association of Woodturners National Symposium in Kansas City recently. I watched two of Al Stirts demonstrations and was inspired to turn this piece. 2” x 11” x 11” cherry—flat rimmed, carved platter. Milk paint and lacquer finish.

Very nice, I looks like the bowl made a hard landing and created a crater.

Interesting design. Those carved lines look almoust alive/flowing.

Very nice. No chip out on the corners. The design looks like it radiates from the center.

very interesting grain pattern. love the stepped interior, really balances the texture of the platter well.
