Every time I think I’ve got enough cutting boards I run across another design I want to experiment with. I kept seeing these on Facebook and the design intrigued me so I decided I had time to make them before my show August 8th. Fun and simple. Nothing is better than a project that looks more sophisticated than it is to make. I made two 2” square blocks, cheery with maple and maple with cherry, 48” long. Cut each of those into three 16” chunks and glued them up. The large board I cut 1.375 figuring 1.25 finished and the small board 1.125 ending up with 1” thick. I should have gone 1.5 on the large board but since I had the extra I made the companion piece. Cove for finger grooves on the large one. Non-slip rubber feet on both.

Very elegant looking. Great choice of wood for contrast.
