If any of you have used the plans from The Barley Harvest, you’ll know what I’m talking about. This is the second chair I’ve made using their plans and I love them. This chair was a perfect fit for my son’s father-in-law.
We made it together, so that made it ever more special. He gave it to him for his 70th birthday. The wood is western red cedar and it’s finished with five coats of General Finishes water-base exterior clear that we sprayed on.
I can’t believe how comfortable the chair feels. It really is designed for Grandpa’s .
Thanks for looking.

Nice build Jerry and for good cause.
Pretty sure I won’t build one ‘cause I may want to use it ‹(•¿•)›

Hey Jerry,

Nicely done! I built Phil’s (Barley Harvest on etsy and PlansInWood.com) beach chair Adirondacks and love them! I’ve actually had people stop at my campsite and ask where I got them. I took the time to plug the screw holes which turned out well. I even won an online woodworking contest and won a plunge router set. I’m giving serious thought to building his folding version next.

Thanks guys for the comments.
Larry, If you do make one you’ll be amazed at how comfortable it is. I added more braces to beef it up a little.
A fun project.

Very nicely done, I have used the same plans as well but I did not think about the cross braces! That is a great idea that I will want to use the next time I build a couple.
