This is my second project.
Reverse engineered from pictures I saw on the Internet. Drew everything up in Sketchup and printed to-scale templates. I made a prototype out of 3/4” plywood I had lying around.
I made the stand for my dad’s birthday. I made it out of 3/4” thick black walnut and Koa (hawaiian wood which my dad loves). I had a really hard time finding nice Koa (had to get it from the Internet). It has a Watco Danish oil finish.

Sorry about that. I was logged in and didn’t notice the improper permissions on the file. I’ve tried while being logged out of google and it sees to work for me. Give it a try and let me know!

Nice guitar stand. The only thing I would add is a felt or rubber protecters at the points of contact so you don’t scratch the guitar.

Hey,
I built this same project! I built mine for my dad and brothers in Christmas 2009. I too used Walnut but I mixed with maple or cherry for my projects. I learned so much. I think it took me 3-4 weeks to make just 3 of them. I think I could do it in 3 days now that I’ve been through it once (-: Nice work. If you want to have a look, feel free.
Have your say...
