On my bandsaw, I cut down a lot of dowel rods into axles for toy trucks I make. Since this was a repetitive operation, I wanted a jig to be consistent. I also wanted to be able use the same jig to cut down various size dowels. In addition sometimes I need to cut small circular parts and wanted to use the same jig. The pictured jig allows me to do all three. The jig is held in place by a runner in the miter channel and is limted from over travel by a runner at the end of the jig on the under side. The stop can be set to get the right length of cut on the dowel rods. It also is tightened down to hold the center of the circle cutting jig in place.

You did a nice job on this jig and it will be a nice asset for your shop.
