A few weeks back I tackled my first barn door build. Here is a full video of my build that I hope you enjoy:

It was rewarding, but man was it tough as a solo project. It wiped me out, and all I can think about is how I really need to have a friend on hand to hang the hardware next time.

You live and you learn – onwards!!

I’d love to have a set of doors like that but they don’t really match our house, nice job.

Very nice.

It’s on my list to build for our master bath.

Looks good.

Very nice.

I giggle at the write up. About the only thing worse than not having a friend around to help is having an incapable person around who isn’t as tall or strong as you are. :)

Yea you definitely achieve a certain style for your home if you make them – that being said – they are very adaptable so maybe you can make it work!

Haha – I’d take incompetence over non existent any day of the week for hanging the hardware!! I’m only 5’8” also…so setting the bar relatively low!

When trying to do something that is a two man job and my wife says “need some help” I answer yes, know where I can get some! Not a good response on my part.

As a man who loves building and is now engaged, I can assure you that is a DANGEROUS response! But you got a good laugh from me!
