Newest finished project from Toys and Joys plan. I added LED lighting as I saw an example of this in one of snapper1’s projects http://lumberjocks.com/projects/268722. Made from White / Red Oak, couple small pieces of Cherry, and Walnut, fun build. Now to add a dumpster to the list of things i want to build. As always all comments welcome. Thanks for looking.

There are a lot of toy makers on this site and I know that I have yet to find them all. Please add me to your Buddy list if you are into making toys.

Meticulous care and attention to detail has paid off in a big way.
It may be called a Garbage truck but its far from garbage in construction.
The fine detail around the doors is of an interest,do they open?
Dip those headlights…!! (I ithink they alone deserve a separate blog, maybe Adding lights to your models)

As for finding the toy makers, keep watching out and looking up at a clear night sky as they will appear as twlinking stars (and ducks) from all sectors of the world, and there is lots of them.

Look there is one ….. I just saw on in the Southaven area.

A. Fine work!

B. Almost expected a “bulldog” sitting on the front!

C. Toy making is more of a joy when you see they toys played with too.

Thank you for the kind words. The doors do not open, I cut out a template and traced it over and over and over again with a box cutter to get the kerf. I used plastic from a 2 liter bottle to create the lens, I can do a blog on that. I have to make more kid friendly toys for my son.

It’s a beautiful model truck and it displays a lot of nice details and craftsmanship.

That trucks looks way too good to just be a garbage truck…
Beautiful detail and the LED’s are the icing on the cake….

That is a great job you have done on the dump truck. How were the plans for accuracy and detail?
I don’t think we should refer to ourselves as toy makers, they aren’t really toys to be played with by children. However they are really models only to be operated by us model makers.
Keep up the good work.

Saying it’s a great build is NOT a lot of garbage. You have done a brilliant job of it and the LEDs throw a new light on the intricacies of your model.

Must admit I have the plans and was looking forward to the build. Darn… you have thrown my desires into the trash.

A little too late comment but this is way too clean for a garbage truck!
That is a very highly detailed model and very well done!
