A friend of mine asked if I could make him a beer caddy for him to give as a Christmas gift and this is what we came up with. It has an ice pack made for bottles and cans that fits snugly in the center and keeps your beverage of choice cool.

This is a very nice project and you’ve done a fine job on it.

Wow, you thought of everything – ice pack and bottle opener included!

What kind of finish did you use? I would be concered about condensation from bottles/ice pack damaging the wood.

Thanks for posting.

I was concerned about that too so I used a spar urethane on the bottom and inside surfaces and a semigloss spray lacquer on the rest.

Beautiful rustic shape and look. I like that plastic cooling insert!
