I’ve worked on this little scene for a while and figured I better just call it finished. If you are a dog owner, you are well aware that they are usually more affectionate than we deserve, always there to cheer you up, and ready to give you a little encouragement. Even if you try to brush them off! I really like the pose of the guy and his dog and the details on the hands. I was trying to give a sense of motion, even though he is sitting and I tried to give the dog a little different pose. Thanks for looking!

Awesome! If you click on all the pictures quickly it does come to life and you can almost hear him say get down boy! Amazing, what wood is that? I’ve always wanted to try carving but I have the patience of a dog who wants to play ball!

Thanks everyone! The wood is basswood, painted with acrylic washes, and the finish is satin polyurethane (blotted off).

Excellent work. They appear to almost come to life. I have known a few dogs that preferred whats in the jug over their owner. Congrats on editors choice.
