Platform bed for my daughter. Made with maple (some turned out to be curly) with pine accents salvaged from the remodel of a school/theater where she discovered her love of musical theater. A reminder of one of her favorite places she can see every night.

The bookshelves are inspired by a twisted bookcase I saw online. I had some large maple boards that had severe checks, so I just went with the splits of the wood to create the twists. I also twisted the foot board posts as an added piece of whimsy.

This is by far the largest piece of furniture I have taken on. I like the result and more importantly, so does my daughter. Six drawers underneath provide a great deal of storage and the central cubby shelf provides storage for slippers etc.

Headboard is maple ply with maple accents.

Finish is semi-gloss General Finishes Poly with a couple coats of wax.

This is an interesting piece. Nice work.
