I can’t believe I turned this from SCRAP!!! Oh man… I’m falling down the rabbit hole!!! This was so much fun. They are quick to make when the shop is too hot to spend the day yet still something to get excited about making.

Oh my, isn’t that a stunner! :) I love the warm colors that blend one into the next. Wonderful! I sure do know what you mean about the addiction of pen turning. They are fast to turn and the finished pen is something you can hold in your hands and turn this way and that to admire and appreciate. They give off their own warmth too…it was once a living thing and I feel that when I hold them.

How many pens have you turned? I’ll have to take a look at our collection. I’m going to say I’ve turned about 20 or so, and had issues with a couple. Now you have me wondering about the number!

Here is the one I started yesterday and finished today…I didn’t want to post it yet because I’d like to get our pen studio set up first so I can take better pictures…this one is mysteriously floating after my sneaky Photoshop work…anyway, it’s blond Acacia with a black chrome slimline kit! It’s nothing special because I wanted to use something more boring for my first pen after years away from the lathe, but it turned out quite well even still! :)
