It has been a thankful day of rest in between the delivery of the shop materials which were put in front of the garage until tomorrow morning when the construction crew arrives. The General Contractor (Dave) said that the crew would move all of the wood, etc. so that I can use my garage. Just a while ago a long flatbed arrived and wanted to know where I wanted the trusses. Since Dave didn’t say anything about trusses, I had the driver call him. It turns out that the trusses were to be delivered tomorrow (Friday), so the poor guy drove away with my roof.

Well tomorrow is the big day. It’s been breezy and hazy most of the day today….I guess we are getting the blow-by from the hurricane south of Miami. Tomorrow is supposed to be nicer which is great for the builders.

I’m trying to make a list of all the transitions, etc. I will need once the shop is built and I can move in. I want to paint the floor, but can not wait the month it will take for the cement floor to cure to start moving in, so I suppose I will have to paint little by little while moving the furniture around! I have a list of most of the shop furniture I will need to build.

In the pictures you can see the cement men repairing one of the four cracks the dump trucks caused in my existing driveway. They did a fine job, using lots of rebar at the crack that is right where my shop drive takes off. You can also see just how dirty my existing driveway was. I pressure washed it where I could as there were workmen’s trucks parked here and there. When all is said and done, I will have to clean it again. The last pic is of the shop from my back patio.

Well, the excitement starts tomorrow morning and I can hardly wait.
