Ok everyone, as if my first surprise swap gift wasn’t enough, I just can’t help myself I guess.

This one was a late entry but still counts I think. It went to builtinbkyn (Bill).

I put everything in the shop aside last weekend to rush this out. It could be better (sorry Bill) but it’s what I could do on short notice.

I put this together because, well, I think he would like it and everything should fit in his purse ok (urban NY thing).

Smoother made from citrus and some other very hard AZ wood. Maybe eucalyptus but I can’t guarantee it.

Plane hammer made from olive.

Center finder made from acacia and citrus.

Any questions let me know!!

Thanks for looking!

Thanks Mark, definitely good to get a plane guy’s approval! Hopefully Bill gets loads of use from it.

Beautiful work Dave, the contrasting wood combo is very nice.

Have fun Bill with your new better than store bought tools!

Nice work, other Dave! Hope you included directions so Bill doesn’t try to put the citrus in his beer. ;-)

Looks schweet.

All these look great, nice job. What is citrus wood? Never heard of it, looks neat. What type of blade did you use?

Nice work Dave. Those dang woods are gorgeous and that’s damned impressive work for a weekend.

Very nice Dave. In in such a short time. You can definitely work under pressure!

Does that citrus fade as it ages? To what color?

And is it related to the satinwoods ?

Citrus is like lemon, orange, grapefruit, stuff you peel and eat.

THe blade on this one is from Rhett here on the forum. It’s a tapered blade. I use one in a smoother and like it just fine. Should be a good user for Bill.

Dave, the citrus isn’t that yellow normally. In fact I don’t really like how yellow it is in this plane but it’s the first time I’ve used it on a plane and I put blo on all my planes so it turned t yellow. We live and learn. Still doesn’t look bad though.

I don’t think it’s related to satinwood but can’t be sure.

Thanks Kenny and Jeff! I appreciate the kind words. I definitely was trying to get these in the mail Monday morning.
