Hi all

This form is made form cherry with a blackwood lid, the finial is made from polymer clay and sits on a jewellery bead.

it is 150mm dia x 220mm high, finished in microcrystaline wax.

very lovely..the clay is an interesting approach to get the look you wanted for the finial.

I was staring at this for a while before I read your comment thinking “How in the world did he carve that finial?”. It really looks terrific. Do you use black clay or did you have to paint it to match? Great job! -Richard

yes I use the colour clay closest to the end result that I am looking for. The sprayed it with acrylic satin lacquer.
