Manitoba maple is the wood.
Lost the branch insert during carving, so Bogart’s line came to mind.
Done worry, I still have all my marbles!
Carving lets me express my feelings!
Enjoy the piece!

Looks good Roman. Was this a piece of maple that you picked up on your recent trip?

This maple came from my sons back yard. The tree had seen it’s better days and had to come down. I was fortunate to be around to collect a few pieces of “F” wood (fallen).

I see that we use similar terminology. When I find, or am given, a piece of wood where I don’t know the species, I mark it as “FOG” . . . Found On Ground. ;)

I like the carving around the knot. The hot weather there must have lit a fire under you, at the rate you have been turning out these boots. Fire here just have people on the run. Cool and rainy here.

Roman, that is some beautiful wood and the boot is so nicely done.
