This is a craftsman inspired bookshelf with a lateral file cabinet beneath. I noticed that the third picture was before I applied the case moulding… eek! it came out pretty nice all in all. Quartersawn white oak was used for the construction and i finished with formby’s tung oil finish that was my first venture into oil finishes and I believe I’m in love! it got 3 coats. I used the euro style side mount drawer slides and some simple oil rubbed bronze drawer pulls on the front of the cabinet. I retro fit some moulding channel for the file rails and the drawer box itself is 3/4 MDF I hate the stuff, but it made a nice solid box on the cheap so thats what i ran with.
