Finally something for my own house! First attempt at floating tenons joinery,it did give a hard time :P and there is a slight slant in the alignment :? but all is well that looks well ! Yeah, way of the world.

Looks beautiful It.s great to make your own furniture. There are a number of good jigs here and on you tube that make loose tenons easier.

Thanks Jim.I did make a jig for mortises but about floating tenons I haven’t found one yet.I guess I have to look closer :)

Maybe the house is out of square?! Very nice looking chest. I’ll bet it will last a lifetime or more. Good work.

We don’t get ready made stains or wood polish here.So got to make the color and polish myself.I used red and dark borwn (Powder colors) mixed them up in the home made polish.Used comperssor to spray it on and later did wood lacquer.I know i explained it bad but it’s the best i could do..lol
