Project Information

Another project that has been on my mind for a while! The chair is based on plans from Rockler…With the templates provided, the build is pretty straightforward. I had some issues with tear out using my flushtrim bit on the cedar, but I figured it out….despite creating a few pieces if kindling for the fire pit!

I liked this design because it includes the back rest supports, which I think gives the chair a nicer looking stance…and because it calls for using 2x material, adding to the beefier look. Even though I like the natural look of cedar, I am going to pain this with an outdoor grade primer and paint to give the backyard a pop of color. This is one of a set of 4.

Thanks for looking!

Good Morning. I saw the side table and then the adirondack chair. Well done. I made my chairs from Woodsmith and they have done well. I am dropping a note from lessons learned about leg rests with the chairs. Many show the leg rests as wide as the chair seat and that blocks you getting out of the seat. So I tried making my leg rests. just a 12 to 14 inch wide and that is great and still wide enough someone could sit on them. Enjoy the chairs last for years…
