I have never made a rocking horse before and had someone ask me to do one and I think it turned out alright.

“alright”????
This is wonderful.
Very solid looking; very beautiful…. and nice use of the different colourings.

Very nice indeed

I would love to make one of these for my grandchild. Did you have a plan or just from you imagination? It looks strong enough for me to ride. Nice job, and I like the rope work.

I used a plan that my father found. It has no indications as to who made it though, no small print on the edges either. One thing I changed on the plan was wheer the “hooves” attach at the rockers and there was supposed to be some pieces crossing between the rockers to step on. Since this was for a 4 year old I modified the plans to come up with what you see here. The thing I like most about this plan is that the saddle is made from wood and is not just a flat plank or some material like leather.
