Small earth globe 1-1/4’’ diameter, to be used as a keychain.
The wood is hickory (pecan). I made the sphere in the lathe and then I drew the continents based on images from different angles of the Earth. Pyrography on the edges and then the interior of the continents with my home pyro (12 volt transformer, voltage regulator and nichrome wire). The termination is nitro sealer (by immersion) and then polyurethane spray varnish (Krylon).
Greetings to all.

Thanks Lew. There are more serious globes on the page… but this is simple and portable… ;)

Wow very cool and artistic. How did you figure the scale out for for the continents? Great job.

Thanks Charles, Jim and Ken.
Ken, the scale for the continents is by eye… lol… I mark the poles and the ecuator and drew the continents based on images. A more exact method is print plans like the ones in this page: http://www.3dgeography.co.uk/make-a-globe like is used in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aeMj46a620
