Made with purple heart, walnut, maple and bocote.
Lined with felt as always and finished with minwax antique oil and wax!
It was bought by a box collector Hampton NH

That box looks great. I love the splines too. I’m working on my first box with splines right now. That purple heart is gorgeous. I can’t find any locally myself. Do you have any pictures of the inside and the hinges and stuff? Thanks for posting.

great looking box, have to agree with the others that I love the maple splines.

Great box and nice mixture of woods. Wish I had started my woodworking at your age but I was more interested in girls and fast cars (or was it fast girls and cars??? I’m so old I forget!).

I like the purpleheart and maple. Not long ago I read an article(won’t mention which magazine) where the guy stated that purpleheart and maple don’t go together for contrasting woods. Duh,I beg to disagree.
