Mimosa Bowls

A mimosa tree that my dad planted many years ago, fell over about a year and a half ago. I turned these bowls, and the one hollow form, from the tree, this last winter.

Like the bud vases in my last post, I am also giving these to my brothers, sister, and mother as keepsakes.

The first two pictures are the same three bowls. Just turned 90 degrees, to show how different the same bowls look at different angles.

Beautiful. I just turned a bowl from Mimosa couple weeks ago. Very pleasant wood to work.

Somehow, I was expecting to see a bottle of Champaign mixed with OJ in there…. possibly with a lump of sherbet.
