Table Saw Sleds

I wanted to make a box. After reading a few books on the subject, Doug Stowe had given a good description of how to build a table saw sled for accuracy, safety, and whatnot.

So I built these. A large sled (MDF/rock maple) with a toggle clamp for a holddown was the major one, and also one to make perpendicular cuts, one to make smaller miters, and a third to cut keys into box sides.

Very happy with the way they turned out. Not absolutely perfect, but pretty darn close, especially for a first go.

Nice sled. I need to make one soon and you have given me the inspiration. I just remembered that I saw those DeStaco style clamps at Harbor Freight this week. I think I’ll buy one, then I’ll have to make the sled to put it on!!
