Manitoba Maple bowl

I found the wood in a swampy field by my house. I didn’t think the wood would be that interesting but… This is probably my favored bowl. I don’t know what wood the base is, but it was nice and red so I think it flows. Thanks for taking a look.

Beautiful bowl. If we only knew what was hidden in each piece of firewood that gets burned, too!!

That bowl has a lot of character and you did a fine job showing it off. Sometimes the hunt for the wood is as good as the build.

I can see why that is a favorite, beautiful. So that is what Manitoba maple looks like. Awhile back I got some blocks from a tree some friends cut down in their yard, they where from Manitoba. Had a red color in and the white wood.So you think the wood in these bowls could be Manitoba maple.
