Been thinking on this for quite a while.. Finally got to it…A Lazy Larry with a lip around the edge.
European Wild Cherry with Tasmanian Blackwood accents. .
I was going to and still will… make the dipping boards made popular by closetguy .
A mate threw up some pottery bowls..
Had not used them yet.. then figured that I could use these bowls in a space in the centre…
A full blog on how this was done will be forthcoming..
Not being a woodturner, I turned to the router and the Torque Workcentre..I have seen a similar lipped platter made with a router jig..without the centre bowl spot.. but the simplicity and ease of using the Torque made this job fun…
This is a quick peek at how easy it was…

And as you can see the new dust collection system..[Nilfisk Vacuum and Supa Separator] worked extremely well.. in fact no dust on the bed of the machine..More on this system when I have some room.. there seems to be a 3 metre Torque in the shed next to the 2 metre machine…

Nice variation on the theme, Larry.
I really like that wood combination and I like the fact that you have a potter friend to make the bowls… nothing store bought and cheesy looking there!!

Great job Larry! I really like those accents and it looks like the torque made quick work of it.
