Bought a ute load of wood from an old chap who was giving the game away. Lots and lots of nice pieces in it.

Thanks Jim. From you that means a lot. Gee that black Wattle comes up nice, hard on tools though.

The top looks like Mahogany…I’ve never seen Pearly Maple or black Wattle before.Where do they come from ?

Hi Dusty56. Black Wattle and Pearly Maple are both Australian woods. Black wattle is an Acacia and is the common name for several different Acacias including Darwin Black Wattle. Pearly Maple is often used in guitar making particularly fretboards and backs. I find it works well with care and is very useful.
