Here is the result of 9 months worth of spare time. The unit is made in 2 sections, the base cabinet, and the book case, made from Ash, with no hardware.

Sweet! Super nice job and no hardware. Love it! The grain in the ash looks really pretty and I like the rounded fronts of the shelves.
