This is based on Christopher Schwarz Roube Style workbench. The last picture is my friend Ken who braved the CA winter in 2009 and 2010 to help me build the bench. He is the carpenter I am the woodworker. He has 30 years fo experience I have just 5 years. We had a good time and learned from each other.

The bench is made from Hem-fir, the top is 4 inches and the legs are 5 inches square. It weights close to 400 lbs and is very sturdy. I love that it can hold anything, anytime anywhere. It is my dream bench and I love working on it everyday.

3 years to make, one to plan, one week in Feb 2009 and one week in 2010. A good friend and as you can see some great breakfasts at the Beahbreak cafe in Oceanside, Ca. Love that banana french toast.

Man, that’s a fantastic workbench. Congratulations!

What are the dimensions of the top?

NICE BENCH!!!!!How did you attach the legs? I am also building a bench and I am trying to decide the best way to join the top to the legs.

That’s two big things ya’ll got. I love them both. Say, what’s with that aircraft carrier looking wheel thingy on the end? Is that to raise the tailhook cables in case a fighter jet needs landing rights? I bet that bench could handle anything. Nice work.

I dunno if I like the bench or the banana french toast better. I do know that I have recipe for baked banana french toast, and I do not have a recipe for a workbench as fine as this one…great job…
