this is the first thing to come out of my new workspace. :) just a simple keepsake box made from some figured maple and padauk that iv been kicking around for a few years. im a big fan of curves and celtic knotwork so i plan to incorporate that into alot of my stuff. the top is held on with a simple purpleheart dowell i turned and drilled through the side. this was also my first carving project. i quickly learned that carving a straight line in figured maple with the grain is a pita but im happy with how it came out overall.

Excellent work on this. All the curves work great together and the carving on the lid really tops it off.
