I post this not to show off because I did not do any of the lettering. Rather, I post it in the hope of inspiring someone to make one from scratch.
Lest I forget, I now have this handy reminder to Measure Twice, Cut Once. I already had a “Measure” key holder when I came upon another “Measure” key holder at a local thrift shop. Immediately I knew what I had to do. Well, I wanted it right away and I’m not well versed in cutting letters so I purchased the pre-cut (pun intended) letters C, U & T. All I did was to cut the plywood and mitre the frame so it would look decent hanging in my shop.
One of these days, (famous words of many of us, eh?), I’ll get taught in the art of scrollsaws.
Anyway, if someone makes one, post it for me. Thanks.

This mantra has failed me on occasion. So, now I follow this one:
Think three times, measure twice, cut once.
Of course, it doesn’t help to measure twice if you’re not measuring the right thing in the first place.

Good Point, Dodeka! If ya don’t have the right measurement on the right piece of wood, doing it wrong twice ain’t gonna fix it…
that’s why, and mostly for saftey’s sake, this is the number one woodworker’s rule: “The woodworker’s mind must be the sharpest tool in the shop.”
