Found some wood on craiglist, lady said she had a tree in her backyard cut down and free to the taken. Well, when I arrived I found the tree in her backyard with humongous pieces, lucky for me there were some I could handle. Now I thought this was a freshly cut tree, but turns out it was struck by lightning last year and was cut pretty early this year, so most the wood had a lot of cracks and checking on the ends and was a little fearful of taking all the wood I did, in dread of having nothing but firewood when I got home, but I ended up getting some nice bowls so far out of it and have cut alot of the wood up into endgrain boards to be later worked on.

I just used tung oil on these, they probably have about 3 to 4 coats a piece, plan on buffing them as soon as my buffer arrives, thanks for looking and for your comment, had fun making them and hope to make many more.

Great score on the wood. I really like how the grain poped out.
