A Suitcase Dog Gar Ramp

My niece’s dog is getting a bit old and has difficulty jumping into the boot of the CRV, so she asked me if there’s any way to make a ramp for him.
Four hours later this is what I came up with… A Suitcase Dog Car Ramp idea that she can keep in her car or carry with her when needed.

Made with whatever I had around that moment in the shop and with a ½ MDF top, thus because it might be slippery for the dog I put some wooden stripes to help him climb the ramp easily.

There is some flex when he climbs so if I was to do it again (or I might get it back and fix that) I would have made a 45 degrees cut join where the two pieces are hinged together for some extra strength.
Other than that it was a fun project and for a good cause.

Suitcase Dimensions 90Χ40Χ10 cm.
Ramp Dimensions 180Χ40Χ5 cm.

P.S Finally thought of an UPGRADE to the ramp to be more sturdy and that includes the 45 degree cut joint and a folding U type leg support (New Sketchup photo is attached)

Thank you for visiting

I like it a lot.
Can you explain more about the 45 degree cut join you wanted to do so I can better picture that in my head?
