Before the real box makers beat me up for these, let me say that I don’t consider myself a box maker. I do make them as a donation to the pediatrics ward at Rapid City Regional Hospital. The Bombe style box was from watching videos of Charles Neil and talking to him. I am sure that next week he will help me sharpen my skills. It the first time I have ever made these cuts on the tablesaw.

All are Beetle Kill Pine

Thanks for reading and all comments and suggestions are welcome.

They look good Monte. And making that cove cut on your table saw is a nice touch. I was just showing my neighbor how I make crown molding the same way. Donating them is to the pediatrics ward is tops!

Monte,

Wondering if you put a liner in them? I think I’ve seen that cove cut before. LOL! If they came out square and flush that’s a great job!

Wait for the echo…......they look good to me too or three or so!

And yes how about a shot of the lids off (ACK DocSavage45), apart from that, I think no other beating up is required/needed.

Coving, I have seen it being done but have never had the courage to do it myself.

Very nice boxes for first time skills, even better. The BKP makes them look unique.

Nice job buddy, some good looking boxes. Charles is a great guy he helped me a while back on a project. Love the wood you used. I need to get some. I’ve never seen it here in Southern California.
Cheers.

Nice looking pieces. I’m always impressed at the range of colours that come from your beetle kill pine. Your construction shows them off well.
