One of my daughter’s college room mates is getting married and asked if I would build a table for them. (they were using one I built for my daughter in their shared home) I was honored so I said yes!.. I questioned myself a few times during the build…. why did I do this! too much pressure! I wanted it to be right for them I told them it would be our wedding gift, no charge and that took some pressure off. Optional warranty available for $1000.. :)

They had seen a picture of this style and sent it to me.. I tracked down the plans from Ana White – Rekourt dining table. It was to big, so I modified. They also wanted no breadboard ends and a to without the grooves between the boards.

Only real problem I had was the corners wanted to curl up slightly without the support from breadboards, so I routered a groove and embedded some angle iron to hold it flat.

They chose a weathered grey for the stain and finish.. not my favorite but they love it which is what is important!

Nice technique embedding the angle iron and slotting the screw holes at the end to allow for movement. Looks good.

Thanks! I’m learning. Can’t see them, but the first layer of the table legs attached to the top have enlongated holes also.
