This was only my second woodworking project. Pretty straightforward design that I modified from several I saw online that had various elements I wanted. Built with pine 2×4s for the frame and maple 3/4” plywood for the tops. I used Behr Cedar Naturaltone All-In-One Wood Finish for the frame. Used Varathane Cabernet Stain & Poly for the tops, then added two coats of clear poly to that.

I did a lot of research before building and took my time. It was built over 4 months when I had free time on weekends and weeknights. Now looking forward to building a table and a tool shed!

Nice setup. Great use of space.

Nice bench! You have your wrenches and hammer all right in front of you, neatly organized and at arms reach. The bottle opener = nice touch!

Thanks guys – happy to finally have a decent work space. Gargey – sometimes you just can’t quit your hometown team …

This is a nice workbench and is very well organized. You have a nice shop; congratulations and welcome to Lumberjocks.

Nice bench setup, too neat and clean for me :)
Go Browns! (Haven’t lived in C-town for over 2 decades, but still my hometown teams)

Thanks, emoon—I’m sure it won’t stay that neat for long. I’ve already added a few minor but handy features: (1) a mounted pencil sharpener and (2) a three-outlet power station with 2 usb ports.

As for the Browns, I’m eternally optimistic. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut eventually … until they get their act together at least the Cavs & Tribe are competitive.

Have your say...
