I have wanted to build a Saw Bench for a long time, but have only recently had the space to put it. This one is made of white oak and was made over the course of 3 days. it is about 36” long and the perfect height for kneeling for me. The only power tool I used was a power plane rather than spending the whole day with a scrub plane. looking forward to using it for years to come!

Here is a video of the full build.

Looks good, James … very similar to mine made of 2 inch pine stock!

On My to make list also! White Oak, real expensive around here! Well all hardwoods really! I do have some Birch that should be getting close to being dry enough. (chainsaw milled 2 years ago)

Thanks Ron. I might have to do some carving in this at some point!

Very nice James. Did you consider resawing the boards?

Birch is a great wood for it. I know what you are saying. that is why I never go to a lumber mill or yard. try not to pay more than 50 cents a BF for most things.

well, I do not want to make them any thinner, but if I had 8/4 stock I wanted to use I would have.

Very nice! A saw bench will be my next shop project, I think.
