Cherry hall table

Curvy hall table from solid cherry with shellac finish. This piece is my original design and it part of my living room furniture. It has the same motifs as the home entertainment center (previously posted): large arches, ellipse arch top, curve aprons with compound curves.

The aprons were shaped by hand and the joinery on them cut with the dovetail saw. Since the angles are awkward, it is not worth figuring out how to cut the tenons on the table saw just for few tenons. Both for this piece and for the home entertainment center I used full scale mockup from hardiboard. This has the advantage that I can use parts of the mockup as templates for the router (to cut the top for example).

Enjoy,
Alin
