I did this pool set for a very good friend in 2007. The set shares the same penthouse home as the “Panaginip bed I posted months ago http://lumberjocks.com/projects/25727 Everything from the size, slate, felt and other accessories are all on the professional level. For all pool player Lumberjocks, It was Efren “Bata Reyes’ ( the magician) & Django Bustamante’s pro who set up the table for the slate, banks and simonis felt. He too was excited then to finish the set up so he could try it out. I only built two of these. I’m lucky I still have the other one at home. I used amboyna burl for the accents on the 6 pockets. The legs are hand carved form an 8’x8’ stock of saplungan post. The top rails are iron wood and the side skirts are all in Narra. The cue rack is made of Dao while the lighting fixture is stack laminates of various species of wood with opal glass as a diffuser. We’ve had a lot of good pool games on this table.
ALL WOODS USED FOR THIS PROJECT ARE RECYCLED WOOD AS WITH ALL OF MY OTHER PROJECTS.

What a cool project! Love the wood and the over-head light. I had to smile as well, at the pool table off what appears to be the master bedroom. Great work and well done.

Another totally original piece with a new twist (couldn’t resist). I appreciate you telling us it was for a bachelor pad, because I was trying to figure out what it was doing so close to the bedroom, lol. Lots of great design details. I played a lot of pool in my youth and I would probably still enjoy it if my eyesight was better. Now I’m waiting to see the custom pool cues! I can’t help but wonder what other wondrous surprises you have in store for us Benji.

Beautifully designed and executed! It looks to be quite a massive and heavy piece. I would not like to be there to help move this piece but it looks like it provides many hours of entertainment.

OK, a job well done, to say the least. How long did the whole project take? Would it be possible for a picture that shows the top? Had a pool table many years ago and had to sell it when I moved; didn’t have room for it.

@ Dmack, sorry I was not able to document it’s production.
@Knothead62. All in all, it took 4 months to build and assemble.
@ Stefang, Im considering making cue sticks but probably just the butts or the ends where the real artwork is.
Thank you all for your comments!
