I don’t know about you, but for me holding guide bushings while I thread the ring nut from under is a pain, particularly the smaller ones !
For my wrench I’ve chosen a HDF floor board for its density and its durability and drilled a 3/4” (18mm) hole using a spade bit at the drill press.
Then I’ve punched and drilled two tiny holes (according to next line) which provided a guide to punch the remaining guide bushing smaller than 3/4” (18mm).
The two 4-40 (2mm) bolts can be locked up with instant (CA) glue.

For more photos and all construction details as well as few related tips, please take a look at this page of my blog.

Thanks for looking.

Best,
Serge

Very clever! When you run into a problem it’s time to think outside the box and solve it. Well done!
