I finally find out the purpose of it when my sons bought some – it’s realy stress healer. What’s the fun if you just bought it – it was real challenge to make them. Three pieces : apple, walnut and mahogany, finished with wood oil. They took them to show in school – now I’m expecting orders (in stores you can bought only plastic ones).
Bearings costs 0.5$ per piece -22mm diameter, 8mm hole. For the central bearing (spinning one) you can use the same bearing as others, but you must open it, wash out thick lubricant inside with petrol or something. That way you release those small balls inside to spin faster -otherwise they will not spin. That’s all – possibilities of shapes are endless. I made it on scrollsaw in 10minites.
Total spinner cost 1.8 $ per piece.

I was at a flea market yesterday and there must have been 50 or more vendors with spinners for sale…but none like yours!!

very nice! I’m wanting to make some for our kids/stepkids as well. What did you use for the middle piece (that you put your thumb/finger on?)

very cool Ivan. Just about every kid in my high school has one of these in their pocket, you should be able to make some good $$ on these.

How about a Superman spinner, or Green Lantern? just a thought…
