I had a few pieces of 3/4” cherry and some maple laying around and finally decided what i was going to do with it. and this is what i come up with. Legs and aprons are attached with mortise and tenon joinery, i also put in corner bracing. Top is attached with clips that are set in a dado, cut on inside of the aprons.
It is finished with three coats of rubbed in linseed oil and paste wax. It measures 19”D x 271/2”W x 22”H

Great line. I would have liked to see thee ends of the boards of the top blocked by a cross piece to prevent warping

The legs are tapered on the two inside sides, the picture doesn’t show it very well but there is a bead on the bottom edge of the aprons. I thought about using breadboard ends but with the clips holding the top it can move with moisture change.

Greetings lumberdog,

You just can’t hardly beat a beautiful Shaker piece of furniture. I think it is my favorite style to builld…..
Clean lines, simple in design, and attractive looks. Nothing fancy, but it doesn’t have to be….. That’s what
makes it so great about this style…... Stellar job, lumberdog, stellar job….....
