Not a new new project, but done late last year.

I’ve got a Chevy Silverado and the plastic hinged top to the front seat console had been broke for some time, so I finally decided to replace it with a wooden top.

Half-lap joinery for the frame and a piece of 1/4” plywood for the panel. I used dowel pieces drilled through the center to act as spacers for the wire that ran through the hinge. I wanted the “well” in the center to hold my phones and such. This will be the first Summer with the top in place, but so far there isn’t a lot of issue with heat, and the three coats of spar varnish seem to be holding the wear just fine.
