What type of wood used for this? I have seen this benches at and looks like they have the same kind of wood but with lighter texture.

wood is pinus – close to pine but it is not the same – original color is close to light yellow – softwood
here it is used mostly rough with a lot of knots to help building brick and concrete houses and in the end goes to the garbage. the worst wood from brasil

after selecting the good pieces without knots, planer, sanding, etc… make the furniture and in the end, dye and stain turn into another nice wood

Teak is another wood. very expensive
