Project Information

Built these two mission style clocks with some short pieces of oak that were given to me. Used the same design as my previous ones in cherry. One I treated one with ammonia to darken the wood. I placed the clock in a plastic garbage bag with a small bowl of janitorial strength ammonia cleaner picked up from Ace. The clocks were finished with tung oil.

^^ Ditto. I'm sort of a clock nut. Haven't built a whole bunch of them, but I really like looking at them.

How long did you fume for that look? Also can you give some dimensions?

I'm sold on the Ace brand ammonia for fuming as well. It takes a few hours, but always does its job.

Nicely styled clocks, what do you use on the clock to secure them to the wall?

Those are well made little clocks. Where do you get your clock faces? I'm trying to find a source for a round one with Roman numerals, about 6-8" I think.
