This is reclaimed Cherry and Maple 4 board bench that I made for my daughter. It was my first crack at doing a curved inlay and I had a nerve wracking blast holding my breath on every cut. All joints are glued mortise and tenon with a sliding dovetail at each end of the stretcher. Finish with 6 coats Minwax Gloss Lacquer final coat was Satin with hand rubbed paste wax.

Interesting piece. I’d like to see more detail on the build. looks like it would have been a tough one for me

Thanks. I’m new to Lumberjocks, so am getting the hang of posting. The inserts are 3 individual strips 1/12” thick. I made up a curved template, used a 1/4” router bit with a bushing and made a pass about 1/8” deep. Then cut right down the middle of the routed groove. Use a flush trim bit to clean up each half. Glue the three strips (making up for the 1/4” material you just removed) and the two halves back together, wait 24 hours, flip the template upside down and repeat.
