THIS IS THE LATEST ADDITION TO OUR LODGE-THEME ROOM.
A BLANKET CHEST THAT HOLDS MY SONS KEEPSAKES AND OTHER THINGS FROM WHEN HE WAS A LITTLE GUY.
HE JUST TURNED 22 YEARS OLD LAST WEEK!
THE FRAME WORK IS PINE WITH RABIT JOINTS AROUND THE EDGES TO ACCEPT THE T&G PINE THAT MAKES UP THE MAIN PARTS OF THE PANELS, THE BOTTOM IS 3/4” AROMATIC CEDAR.
THE ANIMALS ARE CUT ON THE SCROLL SAW OUT OF 5/16 MASONITE THEN SPRAY PAINTED WITH KRYLON.
TEDIOUS—BUT ACCORDING TO MY GRAND DAUGHTER “A LOT OF FUN TO LOOK AT”

Ray,
This is a nice chest that I am glad came up on my review list. The onlays add nice details to the box that create a lot of visual interest.
Nice post.
